Corvinus University’s Pest Campus is home to Corvinus Business School (CBS); the centre for education and research in economics, financial management, management and organization, business, management sciences and management practices.

The Campus embraces the old and the modern with its three buildings located in the heart of the city on the Pest bank of the River Danube. Since the University’s foundation in 1920 it has gained international reputation, and it is the country’s leading university.

The high quality of education offered by CBS is guaranteed by the fact that each subject is taught by lecturers who are specialists in the given science or discipline, equipped with the necessary academic and practical knowledge. Professors encourage observation and exploration as well as team work with participants of different nationalities.


Corvinus Business School seeks to excel as a provider of high quality, cross-disciplinary, and internationally relevant business education and research, emphasizing the relationship between business and society in promoting sustainable enterprises and communities. To this end, CBS aims to continue to


  • provide modern education in core management areas to develop decision makers for dynamic global environments;
  • nurture current and future academic staff; 
  • encourage both applied and scholarly research that contributes to the international business and academic communities alike.

Our mission is to educate responsible business leaders and advance knowledge to promote the progress of global business and society (responsible leadership, sustainable business practices, global orientation).

The current strategy of the CBS focuses on internationalization and research. In line with these goals, the CBS places a particular emphasis on the following key strategic areas:


  • attracting outstanding academic staff and students, from all around the world;
  • through the above improving intercultural communication and understanding;
  • supporting academic staff and students in gaining international experience to foster their personal and professional development;
  • building long-term cooperation with leading academic and business organizations, in both the private and public sectors; and
  • providing a supporting infrastructure – to include library and IT services of outstanding quality and dormitories which meet the needs of a great variety of students and make the pursuit of high-quality education and research possible, as well as ensuring the requisite conditions for sport and cultural activities of students and staff.

When implementing its strategy, the Corvinus Business School is committed to its core values: responsible leadership, sustainable business practices, and global orientation.

We are driven by SIX PRINCIPLES:

Principle 1 – PURPOSE: We develop the capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy.

Principle 2 – VALUES: We incorporate into academic activities and curricula the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact.

Principle 3 – METHOD: We create educational frameworks, materials, processes and environments that enable effective learning experiences for responsible leadership.

Principle 4 – RESEARCH: We engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances our understanding about the role, dynamics, and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social, environmental and economic value.

Principle 5 – PARTNERSHIP: We interact with managers of business corporations to extend our knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to explore jointly effective approaches to meeting these challenges.

Principle 6 – DIALOGUE: We facilitate and support dialogue and debate among educators, students, business government, consumers, media, civil society organisations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical issues related to global social responsibility and sustainability.



International Study Program (ISP) is part of CBS and it focuses on internationalization and research.

Thousands of students have studied with ISP from more than 80 countries since the first year of the program in 1990. Our goal is to provide an opportunity to students to spend a semester or more abroad to further expand their international experience.

The ISP’s dedicated administrative and academic staff are there to support student success and their academic progress. Their aim is to facilitate intercultural communication and understanding and to foster students in their personal and professional development. 

Students can choose from a wide range of courses from the fields of accunting, business, economics, finance, management, international economics, opereations management, history, information technology, sociology and political scence.



A sign of the international recognition of our educational and research activity was the fact that in November 1996 the University became a member of the CEMS (The Global Allience of Management Education). This international master program is ranked 1st of the Financial Times education rankings.

Corvinus Business School is also member of AACSB, PIM, EDAMBA, EFMD and CEEMAN.


The Study Abroad achieved to spread the goodwill of CBU’s ISP and Budapest in several universities in the US, Mexico and Germany and also to attract more and more students to study with us throughout the years. We currently have 10 partner Universities from these countries; successful partnerships that means hundreds of satisfied students that benefited from the academic excellence of Corvinus and also the unique Budapest experience.
